JITU RAI WINS INDIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD


Golden Arm Shooter Jitu Rai won the CNN IBN Indian of the Year Award under Sports category for the year 2014. This award was presented by the Vice President of India H.E. Mr. Hamid Ansari in presence of Minister of Sports Shri Sarbananda Sonowal to Shri Jitu Rai in a glittering ceremony held today. 
The year 2014 was a golden year for Jitu Rai. He won six international medals during this year. He became the first Indian shooter to win back to back three World Cup medals. 
He is also the first Indian to qualify for Rio Olympic Games 2016 when he won a silver medal and a Quota Place during 2014 World Championship. The medals won by Shri Jitu Rai during 2014 in international competitions.
