21st Commonwealth Games - Gold Coast – Changes in Accreditation & Visa Process

This is regarding the Accreditation & Visa Process for the participants of 21st Commonwealth Games 2018. IOA has been informed by the GOLDOC that with the consultation of Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection  (DIBP) they have made some changes in the Accreditation & Visa process for the Games.

In the games time Visa process, the following changes have been made:
 
1.  GOLDOC’s Games Time Visa Hub will no longer initiate the Games Time Visa Process with each participant who requires a visa for travel to Australia for The Game
2.  Each participant who requires a Games Time Visa will generally no longer be required to complete a Form 956 as part of the visa application.
National Sports Federations are now responsible for collecting the data required for each participant who requires a Games Time Visa to travel to Australia for the Games. Apart from the Accreditation form information the Games Time Visa data requirements include five (5) questions in relation to the topics below:
a. Relationship Status
b. Citizenship Information
c. Travel History
d. Health Declaration
e. Character Declaration
Additional information may be required to support the Games Time Visa application. This information may be requested on a case by case basis. Participants who are required to provide additional information to support their Games Time Visa applications will be contacted by GOLDOC’s Games Time Visa Hub and will generally be requested to also complete a Form 956.
The Games Time Visa Information Form’ to assist NSFs is attached herewith.  NSFs are requested to kindly collect the required data of their Athletes and Officials participating in the Games and return to IOA no later than 15th Nov, 2017, to complete the Accreditation and Visa formalities for 21st Commonwealth Games.
