Sanjeev Rajput Wins Men’s 3P Gold on Concluding Day of XVII Kumar Surendra Singh Shooting Championship


New Delhi, August 01, 2017:  Two time Olympian Sanjeev Rajput stamped his class in the Men’s 50M Rifle 3 Positions event on the final day of the XVII Kumar Surendra Singh (KSS) Memorial Shooting Championship at New Delhi’s Dr. Karni Singh Shooting range, comfortably winning Gold ahead of fellow India internationals Satyendra Singh and Chain Singh.

Representing Haryana, Sanjeev shot 461 in the finals while Silver medalist Satyendra Singh ended on 453.4 and Chain Singh claimed Bronze with an effort of 442.5. Both Satyendra and Chain represented the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU).

In the Junior category of the event, NishantDalal made it a double in 3P for Haryana, shooting 449.8 to win Gold. Madhya Pradesh won both the Silver and Bronze medals. AkashPatidar came in behind Nishant with a score of 447.4 while Syed Araib shot 438.2 to finish in third place.

The rifle and pistol shooters now move on to the third and fourth selection trials of the year, which will help select the Indian team for the Commonwealth Shooting Championship scheduled for October-November this year in Australia.
