Vijay Kumar’s Two More Medals on Final Day Takes India’s Tally to 44 from the 13th Asian Shooting Championship


New Delhi, November 11, 2015: London Olympics Silver medalist Vijay Kumar helped India win two more medals on the final day of the 13th Asian Shooting Championship which concluded in Kuwait city, to take India’s final tally to 44 including 17 Gold, 14 Silver and 13 Bronze medals. Vijay won the Bronze in the 25M Center Fire Pistol event and also teamed up with veteran Samaresh Jung and Pemba Tamang to bag the Team Silver in the event. The details of the event are as follows:

Vijay Kumar won a Bronze after losing to Thailand’s Pongpol Kuchairatanna in a shoot-off for Silver and Bronze. Korea’s Dae Kyu Jang won the Gold shooting a score of 585. Both Vijay and Pongpol had shot 584.
 
Vijay Kumar, Pemba Tamang and Samaresh Jung won the Team Silver with a score of 1736. The Korean team won the Gold with a total score of 1738, while Vietnam bagged the Bronze with a score of 1731.
