India Top Medal Standings on Day 6 of the 13th Asian Shooting Championship


New Delhi, November 08, 2015: The Indian Shooting squad went on top of the overall medal standings here on Day 6 of the 13th Asian Shooting Championship being held at Kuwait city. India went ahead of China with a total of 12 Gold, 8 Silver and 8 Bronze medals for a total haul of 28 medals thus far with three more competition days left. China also has the same haul of medals but has one Gold less totaling 11 Golds 8 Silvers and 9 Bronze medals till now.
 
India added six more medals to their kitty at the end of Day 6. Here is a summary of India’s performances in the day:
 
25M Air Standard Pistol Men Junior
Achal Pratap Grewal shot 562 to win Gold. Jungwoo Park and Jaekyoon Lee of Korea shot 561 and 560 respectively to win Silver and Bronze.
 
The Indian Team in the event comprising of Achal Pratap Grewal, Shivam Shukla and Rituraj Singh also won the Team Gold in the event ahead of the Korean and Mongolian teams.
 
25M Standard Pistol Men
Mahendra Singh of India won the Silver shooting a total of 572. Korean Dae Kyu Jang won the Gold shooting 581.
 
He also teamed up with Gurpreet Singh and Neeraj Kumar to win the Team Bronze in the event. The trio shot a total of 1676 points. The Korean team won the Gold with a total of 1698 while China won the Silver shooting 1691
 
 
50M Rifle 3 Positions Women
Lajja Gauswami qualified for the 8-women final but ended 7th shooting 404.6 in the finals.
 
Lajja Gauswami, Anjum Moudgil and Elizabeth Susan Koshy shot a total of 1734 to bag the Bronze.Team China won Gold with a score of 1749 while Korea won Silver shooting a combined score of 1737.
